Project Description
Social educational programs and projects

We operate various programs for targeted populations such as pupils in elementary and secondary schools, university students, youth at-risk, children with special needs and learning disabilities and the elderly. So far we’ve had thousands of participants in these programs across Israel.
“Speaking through Songs” Programs
Most of our social-educational programs are titled “Speaking through Songs”. They aim to bring closer, connect and encourage mutual care among participants as well as between them and other groups in society.
These programs are modular and can be adapted to various groups. The nature and number of meetings are also flexible and they can be operated fully or partially through remote online learning.
These programs include two main components, with the combination enabling participants to get to know and connect with one another, and encouraging them to partake in joint and meaningful social action:
“Songs as Inspirations” – creating a meaningful connection between participants by sharing songs and personal stories through processes that encourage openness, listening, acceptance and empathy toward the ‘Other’.
“Songs as a Gift” – gifting songs and personal messages between the participants, as well as their families and other groups in the community requiring support and encouragement: people who are vulnerable or in-need, suffering from loneliness or long-term illness etc. This process takes place through shared activities between participants, thus strengthening their relationships and encouraging them to engage in meaningful social action.
The programs operate on a dedicated website developed especially for them. It enables sharing songs and personal stories as well as choosing jointly the most emotional or meaningful ones for the group.
“Speaking through Songs” programs for youth and pupils in elementary and secondary schools:
Programs for creating and strengthening connections between pupils, their peers, their teachers. As well as family members and friends. A main component is creating connections between the pupils and people who are vulnerable or in-need – from lower socio-economic background, schools’ maintenance and service staff, people who are sick or elderly and lonely etc.
“Speaking through Songs” programs for youth at-risk, children with special needs and learning disabilities:
These programs focus on family connection and strengthening relationships between family members, as well as on strengthening the relationship and joint activities between children and their peers within their dedicated educational institutions, group homes and day centers.
Programs for youth at-risk have been operating on a large scale during the Coronavirus outbreak in order to enable education and social care workers to keep in touch with the children during home lockdown.
“Speaking through Songs” programs for the elderly – strengthening a sense of belonging, self-value and fulfillment and improving quality of life:
Programs incorporate family members of care home residents as well as making an introduction and connection between the residents themselves. They are based on group work and combine meetings in person and online in order to allow ongoing communication, irrespective of time and geographical distance constraints. Some of the programs include initiatives to reach out to children, youth and other older people suffering from loneliness.
Joint program for Jewish and Arab teenagers:
The program integrates teenagers who learn in separate neighboring Jewish and Arab secondary schools, in order to introduce and create and dialogue and overcome biases and prejudices. Throughout the program participants create connections and develop together social ventures that promote dialogue through music.
Programs for new students and students wishing to become socially active:
A program creates connections between students who are new on campus and come from different backgrounds, assisting them in integrating in academic life. Another program for university students aims to create connections between them and external groups that are vulnerable (children with special needs, the elderly etc).
Dedicated program for personal and social development for adults with disabilities:
We developed this program for members of Beit Halochem (Israel’s rehabilitation center for wounded soldiers), aiming to provide tools and insights for personal empowerment and meaningful social dialogue.
